Yuichi Toyama is the quiet master of modern Japanese eyewear. After more than 25 years designing frames in Japan, Toyama launched his first label, USH, in 2009, then put his own name to the brand in 2017. The name is a promise: the designer stands behind every frame.
Every frame is made in Sabae, the heart of Japanese eyewear, where Toyama works directly with five master craftsmen. Hypoallergenic titanium and Japanese bio-acetate, hand-polished through hundreds of steps, with construction you can’t see: titanium rings embedded within acetate and nose pads integrated into the front, two materials made seamless.

Toyama watched a jump rope game and saw two ropes drawing shapes in the air. His Double Dutch technique turns rim and bridge into two flowing titanium lines.

Frames purchased at Eyecare Project are eligible for a complimentary frame rehab. We’ll replace loose screws, make any necessary adjustments for a comfortable fit, and buff and polish acetate frames to help restore their finish and shine.
